Pocono Raceway and Pride Mobility Products Announce Joint Venture for Mobility Impaired Fans
Pocono Raceway and Pride Mobility Products Corporation are pleased to announce their joint venture in providing Pride Scooters as a courtesy to NASCAR fans with mobility impairments for the Pocono NASCAR Sprint Cup races, beginning the weekend of June 4 – 6.
While inclusive accessibility is a focus of all NASCAR venues, Pocono Raceway is the first in the country to provide courtesy mobility scooters to its fans on race day. "Offering a service of this nature, completely free of charge, is unheard of in our industry, and we are proud to partner with Pride Mobility in offering courtesy mobility scooters," said Pocono Raceway president, Brandon Igdalsky.
The highlight of the weekend is the June 6, NASCAR POCONO 500 with thousands of attendees and a national television broadcast. Also featured will be the Messina Wildlife Management Animal Stopper 200, ARCA Racing Series event on Saturday, June 5.
“With such a vast fan demographic, including those with mobility impairments, Pocono Raceway continues to demonstrate a welcoming environment for all fans,” explained Mark Smith, Pride Mobility's Consumer Research Manager. “We at Pride Mobility are dedicated to serving the mobility needs of all with mobility impairments, and encourage a 'live your best lifestyle,' so it's our privilege to serve the NASCAR community in this first-of-its-kind venture.”
NASCAR fans with mobility impairments interested in reserving a courtesy Pride Scooter can do so on the Pocono Raceway website, www.poconoraceway.com, in the section labeled “In the Spotlight”. Scooters can also be reserved by clicking here to be directly taken to the form .
