In honor of the trailblazing efforts, tireless dedication, commitment and passion of Dr. Rose Mattioli to the motorsports and local community, Pocono Raceway’s launched their first women’s initiative, the Rose Pedals in 2017. The Rose Pedals is comprised of all women on the Pocono Raceway staff including Dr. Rose’s daughters Looie and Michele.
Continuing the Mattioli spirit of community, philanthropy and service by uniting as a team to give back to the community, the Rose Pedals have provided volunteer assistance in areas of need to include: Monroe County Meals on Wheels, Women’s Resources of Monroe County, Family Promise of Monroe County and Operation: Touch of Home among other agencies and organizations.
Since its founding by Drs. Joseph ‘Doc’ and Rose Mattioli, community and philanthropy have been pillars of Pocono Raceway. The Rose Pedals believes in this and powers the women on the Raceway staff to continue Dr. Rose’s example. The Rose Pedals future vision includes a mentoring program built on the foundation of service to work toward expanding opportunities for girls and women in the community by providing tools to recognize their power, potential and accomplishments.
