LONG POND, Pa. (March 29, 2017) – Effective with the 2017 season, Pocono Raceway has lifted most of the restrictions on its re-entry policy.
Guests enjoying Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and Verizon IndyCar Series racing can leave the raceway for any reason, at any time and return, as long as two simple procedures are followed.
Prior to leaving any of the gates, guests will need to follow these two easy steps. First, obtain a re-entry pass. Re-entry passes are distributed at all grandstand gates by the Gate Supervisor (in a red shirt) and is needed to re-enter the facility.
Second, before leaving the ticketing gates, for the safety of our fans, coolers will need to be left at Pocono Raceway branded Information/ADA tents at Gate 8, Gate 11 or in the Infield Paddock. In addition, coolers can be stored at the First Time Fan Booth in Fan Fair. At any of those four locations, you will be given a Cooler Claim Ticket to retrieve your cooler upon your return.
If you prefer to shop first without lugging around your cooler, you can get your cooler whenever it is convenient for you. Just remember, guests will only be allowed to enter the raceway with a cooler one time each day in order to reduce the time fans spend in cooler inspection lines.
Our re-entry policy was created with safety of our guests as a priority. Newly added security measures ensure those efforts will continue while enhancing our guests’ race day experience.
Pocono Raceway will host seven major events in 2017, including two NASCAR and one Verizon IndyCar Series weekend. Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.poconoraceway.com, by calling 1-800-RACEWAY or in person at the Pocono Raceway Ticket Office.

It’s great to be able to leave the cooler and get a ticket for it when we go onto pit road. Last year someone stole our cooler. It had all our drinks, lunch and snacks.
The guaranteed weather and being able to go back to the car and great additions too.

Thank you Pocono.

If you don’t bring your cooler in when you first go in,can you bring it in on re-entry?We usually go in shop, take our bags back to the car then bring our cooler in at race time.

Great news….i didn’t purchase anything last year because I couldn’t take it back out to the car, and re-enter……thank you Pocono

Getting better. Why do we have to go through the hassle of finding a specific person to obtain a pass? What if he/she isn’t there? Will we be questioned as to why we are leaving? Will there be a time limit to re-enter? Why not make it easy and do what all the other tracks do – scan the ticket out, then scan it in again on re-entry?
Pocono Raceway |
Kathy – There will always be gate guards and this is part of our security protocols. It would not be safe to allow fans to enter and re-enter without the procedures we have in place. There is no limit to re-entry. The policies we have in place will still keep fans safe without too much time being wasted waiting in lines.
