Fifth Annual Pocono Raceway Poker Tournament

LONG POND, Pa. (June 1, 2016) – The fifth annual Pocono Raceway Poker Tournament, benefitting The NASCAR Foundation and Pennsylvania-based Michael’s Way, will be held Thursday, July 28 at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The annual charity function is being held in conjunction with the July 28-31 Pennsylvania 400 weekend at Pocono Raceway.

The poker tournament will feature NASCAR drivers and other sports celebrities, all for a pair of great causes.

A limited number of seats are available to compete in the tournament and fans have four options to participate. A $250 donation offers a pre-tournament, VIP meet-and-greet with drivers and celebrities on hand as well as entry to participate in the Poker Tournament; a $150 donation offers entry into pre-event VIP reception and attendance at the event as a spectator; a $100 donation reserves a seat in the poker tournament; and a $50 donation allows for fans to attend the event as spectators. The top-finishing fan will receive a choice between two exciting prizes – a VIP Race Experience at Pocono Raceway or a VIP Stay and Play Experience at Mohegan Sun.

Michael’s Way, based out of Philadelphia, was founded by Chris McElwee in memory of his late brother Michael, and focuses on its mission to improve the lives of children with pediatric cancer and to support their parents struggling under the financial strain of a devastating diagnosis.

Pocono Raceway will host seven national motorsports events during the 2016 racing season, including the Pocono Green 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race for the inaugural time on June 4. The Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race is set for June 5, the Pennsylvania 400 NSCS race on July 31 and the ABC Supply 500 Verizon IndyCar Series race on August 21. The Pocono Mountains 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck race is scheduled for July 30 and two ARCA Series Presented by Menards races with General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible 200 on June 3 and the ModSpace 150 on July 29 offered as well.
