Wait… Pocono Raceway has a signs and graphics shop? What does that mean because I thought they were just a racetrack!
If you have ever visited Pocono Raceway, or have seen a NASCAR race on TV, then you have most definitely seen the many partner and sponsor logos decorated all around the property. The signs and graphics come in all shapes, sizes and designs. They include pit wall signage, larger banners hanging from behind the grandstand or wayfinding signage directing fans to various parts of the facility and their seats. Each one is a necessary part of proper promotion and communication on a NASCAR or event weekend.
These sign and graphics needs not only come at a cost, but are time-sensitive pieces which need to be updated on a yearly basis or while the event is taking place. Outsourcing the printing process for a business, like Pocono Raceway which is all about speed, is not always the most efficient way to do business. Thus, Pocono Raceway Signs & Graphics was born!
Pocono Raceway Signs & Graphics is a one-stop shop for your local and regional printing needs. Our shop uses HP 560 – 60” wide format latex printer, GFP 60” hot / cold laminator & a 54” Graphtec plotter to produce customized signage and graphics. Behind every great company are great people. Let us meet the team behind Pocono Raceway Signs & Graphics – Sue Marshall and Scott Neary.
Sue Marshal has an extensive artistic background, as well as wealth of knowledge in the graphic design world. Her career began in Manhattan doing illustrations for a small advertising agency and worked her way up the ladder to become the company’s Art Director. Sue left NYC to work for Titan Sports and WWF (now WWE) as their Art Director for several years. (And yes, we will save some of those WWE and wresting stories for another day.) Sue joined the Pocono Raceway family in 2019 and she told us, “This is my favorite job yet!” Helping Sue is Scott Neary, a recent graduate from Elizabethtown College with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. What started out as an college internship has turned into a full-time job designing signage, producing vinyl, and working in tandem with Sue on all projects. Scott is also a member of the racing community as owner of a Tobias Slingshot. This inside perspective of seeing the most recent trends in motorsports graphics is a perfect union for his daily duties. Scott said this is his “dream job” and we are grateful for what he brings to Pocono Raceway Signs & Graphics every day.
With this state-of-the-art equipment and talented staff, it made absolute sense to open our shop to the community. In the first few months of taking on client projects, Pocono Raceway Signs & Graphics has been able to create signage for Pocono Organics’ ‘Food Forever Event,’ the artwork for Pocono Raceway’s digital billboards, an 80-foot NASCAR partners crash wall used during the 2020 NASCAR Doubleheader at Pocono Raceway, a Pocono Mountains Visitor Center wall mural, the ghost flames for Jake’s Golf Carts and more! Pocono Raceway Signs & Graphics shows no signs of slowing down, especially now and with recent community demand for COVID-19 signage.
