We have long said we have the best fans in motorsports at Pocono Raceway. Whether you have been coming to races for years or 2018 was your first time, we want to hear from you! If you would like to be featured, please e-mail Kevin at kteel@poconoraceway.com.
This week we hear from one of our great fans, Brent Berwick, PA. Enjoy!
Name: Brent “Dirt” Fedder
Hometown: Berwick, PA
Family: A Brother Chad, Niece Lexi Jo, and Father Norm.
Pets: My dog, “Rusty Griswold” is a Border Collie/ Aussie Shepard mix.
Occupation: Teacher
Question: How many times have you visited Pocono Raceway?
Answer: I’d say it’s between 55-60. I went to both races for the longest time.
Question: How/when did you get interested in racing?
Answer: My mother, Bev. She and I have been on most dirt tracks in PA. We watched everything from late models, sprints, funny cars, etc. Anything that had a motor we went to see it run. She took me to my first Pocono race when I was 7. Unfortunately, she passed away 6 years ago from cancer. I still thank her every race that I attend.
Question: What is some advice you would like to give to possible first time Pocono Raceway fans?
Answer: Wear comfortable shoes. Explore as much as you can. There’s so much to see and do. Buy tickets for the infield. After your 1st race, check into camping. It is the greatest experience and I regret not doing it sooner. You will not be disappointed.
Question: What driver would you like to meet and why?
Answer: Dale Jr. I heard him speak in the infield a few years ago. He is so humble and down to earth. I could clearly tell that he is a genuine and sincere guy. He talked more about his Chevy S-10 than his Corvettes.
Question: What is one cool fact or talent about yourself you would like to share?
Answer: I am the farthest person to ever brag and hate saying this. I have never missed a deer.
