Fireworks and Infield Block Party Open to Fans – July 5

LONG POND, PA (June 30, 2014) – Pocono Raceway will open their infield, during the Pocono INDYCAR 500 Fueled by Sunoco race weekend. for a Fireworks show and Infield Block Party on Saturday, July 5. These events are open to the public, from 5 pm – Midnight ET, for a $5 donation, per vehicle, to the Tunkhannock Township Volunteer Fire Company, which have everything prepared for the show, they settle on a plan of action in case on malfunction and have smoke detectors on the buildings.

The Pocono Raceway Fireworks Spectacular and Infield Block Party is open to all ages and will feature live music from Wilkes-Barre (PA) band 40 Lb. Head from 6 pm – Midnight with the 30-plus minute fireworks show tentatively scheduled to begin at 9:15 pm. Barley Creek Brewing Company, a family-friendly restaurant and brewery from Tannersville (PA), will be on site serving a variety of their craft beers, as well as, hosting fun games at the Wiffle Ball Field. Scranton (PA) food truck “What the Fork,” recent runner ups on “LIVE with Kelly and Michael’s” Truckin’ Amazing Cook Off, will have their delicious and unique food available for purchase all night long.

The public may enter, as early as 5 pm, through the Gate 1 Tunnel. Once inside the Raceway, fans will be directed to park in a designated infield lot. All vehicles in the designated lot must exit the infield by 1 am on Sunday, July 6.

Before the infield opens, Saturday’s on-track activity will include Verizon IndyCar Series practice and qualifying and the Pocono Indy Lights 100 race. Saturday Grandstand tickets start at $20 ($25 the day of the event) and kids, ages 12 and under, are FREE.

On Sunday, the stars of Verizon IndyCar Series will compete in the Pocono INDYCAR 500 Fueled by Sunoco. Sunday Grandstand Tickets start at $25 for adults and $12.50 for kids, ages 12 and under.
