LONG POND, PA (May 2, 2013) – Marco Andretti, Andretti Autosport driver of the No. 25 RC Cola Chevrolet in the IZOD IndyCar Series, will be visiting Lehigh Valley Grand Prix on Wednesday, May 8, from 1-6 pm ET, to promote the July 7 Pocono INDYCAR 400 at Pocono Raceway. The event will feature indoor kart races between Andretti and local media members, as well as, an opportunity for race fans to meet the 26-year old, Nazareth (PA) native.
Andretti, a two-time winner in the IZOD IndyCar Series, will not only race local media members, but will also sit down to discuss the historic return, after a 24-year absence, of open-wheel races coming back to Pocono Raceway. The Pocono INDYCAR 400 weekend, July 6-7, will mark the first time INDYCAR has raced at the famed 2.5-mile, triangular-shaped oval since 1989.
Following his media obligations, race fans in attendance will have their chance to get up-close-and-personal with the Andretti during a photo/autograph session. Fans are invited to attend Lehigh Valley Grand Prix at 1:30 pm ET, with the fan engagement portion of the event running from 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm ET. Fans are asked to keep autographs to one item per person, due to time constraints. Lehigh Valley Grand Prix is located at 649 South 10th Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
Tickets for the July 7 Pocono INDYCAR 400 start at $25, and all children’s (ages 12 and under) Grandstand tickets are half price. Additionally, Pocono Raceway will open their Grandstand to the public, free of charge for the IZOD IndyCar Series open test session on Thursday, July 4.
