LONG POND, Pa. (August 16, 2016) – Fans at Pocono Raceway for the Verizon IndyCar Series ABC Supply 500 won’t only get to see cars on the track exceeding 200 miles an hour, they will also have the opportunity to visit a massive car show in the paddock area.
The ABC Supply 500 will be held Sunday, August 21, with practice and qualifying scheduled for the day before. Print-at-home and mobile tickets are available by calling 1-877-RACEWAY or www.poconoraceway.com.
During the weekend in the Paddock area, fans can see Vintage IndyCars and a host of others spanning many generations and many different racing series. In addition, more than 130 Chevrolet Corvettes are expected in the Paddock on Sunday.
Vintage IndyCars will be on display Saturday and Sunday. A Paddock pass is needed to see the car show and be in the Paddock area.
Dick Simon, who raced the Indianapolis 500 on 20 occasions and finished in the top-10 twice, Denny Zimmerman, the 1971 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year and Duane “Pancho” Carter, the 1985 Indianapolis 500 pole sitter, will be available for autographs in Autograph Alley from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Simon and Zimmerman will also be in Autograph Alley on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Paddock Pass is needed to be in Autograph Alley.
The Verizon IndyCar Series ABC Supply 500 is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at the 2.5 mile ‘Tricky Triangle.’
It was also announced this week that the Verizon IndyCar Series is returning to Pocono Raceway in 2017 and 2018.
