WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Sept. 30, 2016) – Pocono Raceway was presented with the NEPA Alliance Regional Leadership Award, Wednesday during the organizations’ annual dinner at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
With well over 350 business and community leaders from around the region, Pocono Raceway was honored for its significant contribution to regional growth, economic development and collaboration within the seven-country NEPA region.
Pocono Raceway Chief Marketing Officer Ben May accepted the award on behalf of President & CEO Brandon Igdalsky who was unable to attend.
Dr. David T. Feinberg, M.D., MBA, President & CEO of Geisinger Health System, presented the keynote address.
The NEPA Alliance is a regional community and economic development agency that serves the seven counties of Northeastern Pennsylvania including Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne. Pocono Raceway Senior Director of Tickets and Marketing Ricky Durst is an at-large member of the Board of Directors of the NEPA Alliance.
Pocono Raceway will host seven national motorsports events during the 2017 racing season, including two NASCAR Cup races and the Verizon IndyCar Series. A NASCAR XFINITY Series race, one Camping World Truck Series Race and two ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards are also on the schedule for 2017.
