LONG POND, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2017) – NASCAR has announced official stage lengths for all three of its series that will race at Pocono Raceway this summer.

For the July race will you be able to leave the grandstands between the qualifying and the actual race?
Whoever decided to delay races to 3pm is crazy, everyone knows it rains most late afternoons in the Poconos. And if you are returning to New York you are guaranteeing that the fans will sit in traffic. Longing for when races used to be at noon.

You know, you guys decided that the 500 miles was too long for fans to sit and watch a 500 mile race! so, you reduced to 400 miles, that was good for most.
But guess what you did, you added qualifying on Sunday, so now the fan has to get into the stands by 11:30 and stay until the race is over, 6ish? 7ish? you guys
really have not idea what your doing to people trying to enjoy the day, now your making them be tortured in the hot sun for 8 hours for what? qualifying?
So, who doesn’t come on Friday now, to watch qualifying for that race. Practice is not Qualifying! Good luck, give it a couple years and you guys will be like Indy. do it all on Sunday? so, would the fan be able to leave when they come in at 11, and stay inside thinking you guys will generate income buying
food/drinks?

AS A (multiple) TICKET HOLDER SINCE 1980. I think this the worst thing you could have done. You better hope your ticket buyers do not get thoroughly disgusted with this change. The 500 mile race started at 12:00 pm, then years later it started at 12:30 pm, then 1:00 pm, then 1:30–2:00 pm then 400 miles, that was OK, people got home early, NOW 3:00 pm THIS IS NUTS, I AM SORRY. I AM NOT PLEASED ABOUT THE LATER STARTING TIME. I have a house in a nearby town. So I have no problem. But Many Ticket holders come TO THE RACE, some from afar, for the day. And my belief is they are going to be VERY DISAPPOINTED. And Rightly so. Whoever thought of this 3 PM starting time??? I can not wrap my head around this cause. Even if you have lights, which you did mention as a fact, that may be an excitement factor. Now with Little Children “free” they get “Cranky” that is another crazy thing. Sometimes you can not put profit before the comfort of the adults. And get rid of the “Drunks” while you are at it!! My complaint also is, why didn’t this thought come into play long before this? NASCAR HAS or POCONO Raceway HAS TO GET THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR “BUTTS”. Three o’clock East Coast starting time is “RIDICULOUS”!!! Give it a couple years and it may destroy you; and your T.V. crowd will not be watching it either.
GOOD LUCK WITH THIS DECISION. I HATE IT. GO BACK TO 12:00–12:30 PM STARTING TIME.

3:00 is bad on a Sunday and you get that much less leeway for a rain delay. A lot of us have a long drive home Sunday night. I won’t be unpacking my cooler and grill until at least 10PM. It’s not good for me at all

NASCAR asked about doing qualifying and the race on Sunday, Pocono said they try it, so it doesn’t mean it will be this way next year. They should have started the qualifying at 10:00AM and the race by 1:30-2:00pm. And they need to go back to 500 mile races starting next year. If Pocono wants to something different put up lights and move one NASCAR race to Saturday night under the lights.

Best ideal I’ve seen here so far makes more commen scenes.
