LONG POND, Pa. (Oct. 20, 2016) – A group of 68 volunteers, with 591 years of service to Pocono Raceway as part of Team Pocono, was recently honored.
Formed 25 years ago in 1992, Team Pocono members work along pit road at Pocono Raceway and are easily identifiable in their purple shirts. The role of Team Pocono is to ensure pit road remains safe for all patrons, fans, workers, drivers and crew members.
Years of service anniversaries were marked with either gifts, plaques or pins.
Five-year awards were presented to Amy Bellis, Leo DeMi, Scott DeDomenico, William Dorney, Elaine Eichner, Brian Fluck, Sue Thompson, Andrew Hartman, Jerry Hovermale, Stanley Hovermale, David Kratz, Dave Leister, Karen Martin, Pamela Mausteller, Harry McCabe, Michael McKernan, David Mellor, Lee Rissmiller, Timothy Silfied, Scott Smolko and Ron Tinari.
Ten-year honors went to James Adams, Linda Coppinger, Barbara Dorney and Robert Hunter, while 15-year recipients included Ernest Alich, Edward Martin, John Parker III and Frank Zink.
Those with 20 years of service included Cindy Brower, George Coppinger, Rick Gallo, Mike Haskins, Linda Keller, Stanley Micsion, Lorrie Ordinsky and Kristine Parks.
The 25-year veterans are Joanne Gensel, Cheryl Leister, Robert Senchak and Terry Troop.

Pocono Raceway will host seven major events next year, including two NASCAR and one Verizon IndyCar Series weekend.
