LONG POND, Pa. (June 22, 2021) – Nick Igdalsky will partner with Fast Track Racing to drive the No. 12 car for owner Andy Hillenburg in the General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible 200 ARCA Menards Series race on Friday, June 25 during the 2021 NASCAR Doubleheader weekend at Pocono Raceway.
Igdalsky will feature the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Foundation on the hood of the #12 in effort to raise awareness and funds for the PMRPF, as well as other surrounding police departments in and around Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
“I and other board and community members wanted to show our support for the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department, which serves and protects the area around the track as well as all of the other departments that serve Monroe and the surrounding counties,” said Igdalsky, who is a proud member of the PMRPF.
Supporting local first responders has always been a priority for Igdalsky, who is not only the Pocono Raceway CEO, but also Director of the Mattioli Foundation. Both of which were co-founded by Igdalsky’s grandparents, Dr. Joseph “Doc” Mattioli and Dr. Rose Mattioli.
Backing his cause this weekend both on and off the racetrack will be Sunset Hill Shooting Range, Barley Creek Brewing Company and Pocono Outdoor Adventure Tours, all of which have donated to the PMRPF.
“People have the ability to show support for their own local police departments by making donations directly to them or to a foundation like ours for everyday needs that not only keep the officers safe but helps them serve the people in a safer and more efficient manner – everything from K-9 training items, vests, body cams, detective equipment, etc.,” Igdalsky said. “I guess you can say this is a ‘Fund the Police’ campaign, and we urge everyone to contribute to their own local police department as an ultimate show of support.”
Familiar with the importance of not only financial support but appreciation throughout the community, Pocono Mountain Regional Police Foundation President and law enforcement professional, John Lamberton agrees, “Community encouragement is crucial to [police] departments,” adding, “Officer confidence is obvious when you wear that badge; but morale comes from knowing the people you’ve chosen a career to serve and protect value what you do.”
Community members are encouraged to visit their Regional and State Police Departments website to learn more on how they can support and donate to the Police Departments in their area.
The mission of the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Foundation (PMRPF) is to provide resources for essential equipment and programs not funded by the police commission and promote the safety and well-being of the community PMRP serves, according to the foundation’s website.
Igdalsky is making his second start for FTR, his first coming in August 2020 at the Daytona International Speedway road course, where he earned a 14th-place finish in a wet and rainy race.
At Pocono Raceway, his family owned and operated track, Igdalsky has made nine of his 32 career starts and finished sixth at Pocono in 2014 for his best career finish to date.
